British multinational telecom company Vodafone on Friday launched a new entry-level tablet, dubbed as the “Smart Tab N8” with 4G LTE support and running on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The new Vodafone Smart Tab N8 tablet will be available in Volcano Black colour option. Vodafone has now partnered with the Chinese electronics company TCL to make this tablet, the same company that also works with BlackBerry and Alcatel. However, the pricing details and the availability of the Smart Tab N8 has not been revealed by the company yet but looking at the specifications we can expect this tablet’s price will fall in the mid-range budget (around $200/Rs. 12,900).
As far as expected specifications of Vodafone Smart Tab N8 tablet are concerned, it sports a 10.1-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.1GHz MediaTek MT8735B quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Vodafone Smart Tab N8 tablet runs on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of optics, the Smart Tab N8 features a 5-megapixel primary rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls. Camera features also include autofocus, self-timer, face detection, HDR and 720p scale video recording support. Connectivity options on the tablet include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 (b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, USB OTG, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include an Accelerometer, Proximity and G-Sensor. The Vodafone Smart Tab N8 packs a high-density 4600mAh battery which claims to deliver up to 12 hours of talktime, 28 hours of music playback time, and 320 hours of standby time. The tablet measures at 260 x 155 x 8.95mm and weighs 465 grams.
