South Korean tech giant Samsung on Tuesday launched its new flagship tablet, called the “Galaxy Tab S3” at an event in Bengaluru, India. To recall, the Galaxy Tab S3 was first announced at the Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC) event in Barcelona back in February. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 comes in Wi-Fi and LTE variants, but for the Indian market, the company has brought the Wi-Fi variant only. Priced at Rs 47,990, the Galaxy Tab S3 will be made available for purchase starting today via both the e-commerce websites and all leading offline retail stores across the country in Black and Silver colour options. The key highlights of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 are its Super AMOLED display, S Pen stylus, AKG tuned quad-speaker, and the Galaxy Game Launcher. The company has also introduced a Book cover, which is priced at Rs 2,999 and a Pogo keyboard cover, which has been priced at Rs. 8,499.
As a part of an Introductory offer, Samsung is offering a one-time screen replacement at Rs. 990 within a period of 12 months from purchase. This offer is valid till July 31. There is also a double data offer for Reliance Jio users, providing 28GB + 28GB per month at a minimum recharge of Rs. 309. This offer is valid till December 31.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Specifications and Features:
In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 sports a 9.7-inch QXGA Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The device is powered by a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the tablet is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fonts, the Galaxy Tab S3 runs on company’s proprietary TouchWiz custom UI skin, based on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, an f/1.9 aperture, and LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls.
The Galaxy Tab S3 supports a S-Pen stylus just like the Microsoft Surface Pen. The S Pen allows for a precise and natural handwriting or drawing experience. In terms of S-Pen specifications, the pen has 0.7mm tip, that can detect more than 4,096 levels of pressure and the impressive tilt technology helps you smoothly draw in the most comfortable position.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy Tab S3 offers various connectivity options including 4G-enabled Nano-SIM slot, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB 3.1 Type-C port for superfast charging and data transfer. Sensors on the tablet include a Fingerprint sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and E-Compass sensor. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 packs a decent 6,000mAh battery with adaptive fast charging capability. The company claims that the tablet can deliver up to 12 hours of video playback. Dimensionally, the tablet measures at 237.3 x 169.0 x 6.0mm and weighs 429 grams.
