‘Dangal’ is the highest-grossing sports movie this year. Earlier, it was Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’. But then in the film industry, rules are made to be broken. The reality is that sports movies provide best entertainment be it for a story or script, regardless of the athletic background against the story that is set. Sports movies are the latest fad in Bollywood; if Aamir Khan and Salman can pick up wrestling, why can not Hrithik pull legs of players in Kabaddi. Hrithik Roshan has given a nod to act in an untitled film as a Kabaddi player. The film will be made to promote Ronnie’s Kabaddi team.
Now we hear that Hrithik Roshan is in talks with producer Ronnie Screwvala to do a sport oriented movie. It may be noted that Ronnie was conceiving a movie based on the sport of Kabaddi long back. Interestingly, Ronnie owns the Mumbai Kabaddi team in the pro-Kabaddi League. Earlier, Ronnie has produced hit movies such as ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Delhi Belly’ and ‘Barfi’. The film will be made on the lines of Shah Rukh Khan’s movie ‘Chak De’.
Now we hear that Hrithik Roshan has liked the subject very much. Having closely been involved with his team, U Mumba, Ronnie was planning to make a feature film on Kabbadi very soon.
