South Korean tech giant Samsung on Monday launched a new Rose Pink colour variant of its premium flagship smartphone, Galaxy S8+ in the Taiwanese tech market. To recall, the company introduced the Galaxy S8+ smartphone globally in Midnight Black, Orchid Grey, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue, and Maple Gold colour options back in March. Priced at TWD 27,900 (approx. Rs. 59,300), the Galaxy S8+ Rose Pink colour variant will be made available for purchase starting from early July via company’s official website in Taiwan. Sadly, the company has made no official announcements about the pricing details and availability of the Galaxy S8+ Rose Pink colour variant for other markets. The Rose Pink colour Galaxy S8+ packs the perfect mix of glass and metal design, style, and luxuriousness, which are all associated with the Samsung Galaxy brand.

Note that, this news comes following the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ models rebranding in Taiwan, the company made the decision to change the names of the Coral Blue, Maple Gold and Orchid Grey Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ colour variants to Ice Lake Blue, Smoked Purple Grey and Quicksand Gold. Apart from its paint job, the other specifications are same to same as we have seen in the original Galaxy S8+.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1440×2960 pixels and 529ppi of pixel density. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ houses a dual-edge curved Infinity display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, IP68 dust and water resistant technology. The display is certified by the UHD Alliance as Mobile HDR Premium. The Galaxy S8+ comes is powered by a 1,9GHz Exynos 8895 octa-Core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. Talking about its software fronts, the device runs on Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

In terms of optics, the Galaxy S8+ smartphone comes equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology, optical image stabilisation and an f/1.7 aperture. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with smart autofocus and an f/1.7 aperture. The rear camera also is capable of recording 4K UHD videos at 30 fps, 1080p Full-HD videos at 30 fps or 60 fps.

On the connectivity front, the Galaxy S8+ supports a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy S8+ also include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz, 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, NFC, GLONASS and a USB Type-C port for superfast data transfer and charging. Sensors on the device include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, heart rate sensor, barometer, and magnetometer. The smartphone also supports Samsung Pay and MST connectivity and comes with a fingerprint scanner, iris scanner and facial recognition for high-grade security. The Galaxy S8+ is fuelled by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support as well as wireless charging. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ measures 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1 mm and weighs 173 grams.
