Chinese smartphone manufacturer Lephone on Tuesday launched a new entry-level smartphone, called the “lephone W2” in the Indian budget smartphone market. Priced at Rs. 3,999, the new lephone W2 is now already made available for purchase exclusively via all leading offline retail stores across the country in Black, Golden, Rose gold and White + Gold colour options. Despite a small and entry-level smartphone, the new lephone W2 comes with several brilliant features like 22 Indian regional languages, 4G VoLTE support, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS along with “360”-powered features and apps.

Speaking at the launch of lephone W2, Vinod Pandit, Business Head, lephone Technology Pvt Ltd, said, “lephone is leveraging a platform with an affordable yet power packed device, as it offers the flexibility to address users’ increasingly varied demands. Lephone W2 offers all the latest specifications and is arguably the best model in its class in the market.”

Lephone W2 Specifications and Features:

In terms of specifications, the lephone W2 sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz unspecified (it’s probably the Spreadtrum SoC) Quad-Core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via micro SD card. On the software front, the lephone W2 smartphone runs company’s 360 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The company’s 360 OS showcases dazzling features and useful apps like dual account support avatar master, 360 Clone, 360 Security and much more.

In terms of optics, the lephone W2 houses a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash module. On the front, there is a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls.

For connectivity, the new dual-SIM lephone W2 smartphone offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include an Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor. Sadly, the company has not revealed the battery mAh capacity of the lephone W2. Apart from these specifications, the smartphone also comes preloaded with Indian regional lingoes that enables communication in 22 regional languages including Hindi, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Nepali, Bodo, Telugu, Urdu, Sindhi, Odia, Sanskrit, Kashmiri, Dogri, Maithili, Santhali, Konkani, and Manipuri.
