Warner Bros. has surely got something going in their think-tank, as recently during the San-Diego Comic-Con event, the news came out (not official yet) that Ben Affleck may exit as Batman after Justice League this year or after one more DC movie. That eventually means that Matt Reeves’s The Batman which is yet to take-off for production, may see a new face for the Dark Knight, altogether. But, why?
There’s no official announcement of it yet, but rumors suggest that the age factor of Ben Affleck can be the big reason behind Warner Bros’s decision to make him leave the role of Bruce Wayne. The very first time we heard of Affleck being replaced as the new Bat-vigilante, back in 2014-15, everyone was either angry or in shock and some die-hard batman fans even filed a petition against DC’s decision online! Some experts also slammed this replacement due to Ben Affleck, being over-aged, to play an action-superhero in DCEU’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Thus, it can be said that there will be an entirely new script, with a new director (Matt Reeves) and also a new Batman too!
So, the entire focus now shifts to one million-dollar question-who will be the new Batman? And who can be the fitting face to play Gotham city’s hero.
