Nissan-owned automobile company Datsun on Wednesday launched a new 1.0L variant of its popular redi-Go urban crossover hatchback, dubbed as “Datsun redi-GO 1.0L” in the Indian auto market with a starting price of Rs. 3.57 lakh (Ex-showroom, pan India). Interested customers can make bookings for the redi-GO 1.0L at the nearest Nissan and Datsun-authorised dealerships across the country at a fully refundable token amount of Rs 10,000, while the deliveries of the new redi-GO 1.0L to its owners will commence from today in 5 colour choice options — Silver, Grey, Ruby, Lime and White. Further, the company has also announced three maintenance packages worth Rs. 22,287 for three years/30,000 km, Rs. 31,495 for four years/40,000 km and Rs. 43,298 for five years/50,000 km on the Datsun redi-GO 1.0L to take care its maintenance charges.
The Datsun Redi-Go 1.0L has been launched in India by Indian freestyle wrestler and Datsun redi-GO brand ambassador, Sakshi Malik. The 800cc engine-powered Datsun redi-GO is now available in D, A, T, T(O) and S trims, while the new 1.0L variant of the Datsun redi-GO hatchback’s availability is limited to the upper-grade T(O) and S trims.

The Datsun redi-GO 1.0L borrows its overall design and styling from its smaller sibling, Datsun redi-GO 800cc, which was launched in India in the month of June 2016. The new Datsun redi-GO 1.0L comes equipped with company’s signature hexagonal grille with honeycomb pattern, body coloured bumpers, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), ORVMs on driver & passenger side and chromed bumper with integrated LED fog lights. At the rear, the new hatchback features contoured tailgate, vertically stacked tail lamps and reflectors on lower bumper. Dimension wise, the Datsun redi-GO 1.0L measures 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width, 1,541mm in height, 2,348mm wheelbase and offers an 185mm of ground clearance.
Talking about its mechanical department, the Datsun redi-GO 1.0L is powered by a 1.0litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine that comes equipped with the Intelligent Spark Automated Technology (iSAT) for higher fuel-efficiency that delivers an ARAI certified mileage of 22.04km/l. The engine is capable of producing 67 bhp of peak power at 5,500 rpm against the peak torque of 91 Nm at 4,250 rpm. The 3-cylinder petrol engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Redi-Go 1.0-litre with an AMT transmission is expected to be launched later this year.

Inside the cabin, the Datsun redi-GO 1.0L urban crossover hatchback gets 3-spoke power steering wheel, Music system compatible with Bluetooth, AUX-In and USB connectivity and Air conditioner. Other features include a 2 DIN audio system, a CD player and two speakers, central locking with keyless entry, front power windows, blue instrument panel and much more.
In terms of safety, the new redi-GO 1.0L urban crossover hatchback features a driver-side airbag on the Sport variant, three-point seat belts, a lock/unlock button on the central console, rear parking sensor on the redi-GO T (O) variant, Daytime Running Lamps, child safety door locks and an immobiliser.
In the Indian lucrative market, the Datsun redi-GO 1.0L hatchback will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid.
