Google is surely enjoying a good time thanks to its Android OS which is the most used operating system for majority of smartphones. But its also a fact that the ultimate competitor to android is Apple’s iOS which is also used across the globe by many users via iPhone or iPad. And Google knows that very well, and for that it’s been doing something for many years-for being the search engine on iPhone too! But, what?
The tech-giant Google has been paying a hefty amount to the California giant for quite a some years now, to remain the default search engine for every iOS device, that we use.
But this time, the amount has upped from $1 billion (that Google used to pay three years ago) to a huge $3 billion!
Although, given that 50% of Google’s mobile search revenues are generated from iOS devices, it may not be a large amount, since Google knows how much important for them is Apple.
