After launching the Krypton 22 smartphone in India in the month of May, Videocon Mobiles on Monday updated its budget smartphone series catalogue with the launch of a new budget-oriented smartphone, called the “Videocon Metal Pro 2” in the Indian tech market. Priced at Rs. 6,999, the new Videocon Metal Pro 2 smartphone will be made available for purchase in India starting end of this month via all major offline retail stores across the country in Gold and Space Grey colour options. Besides this, the company also announced an introductory offer for the Videocon Metal Pro 2 buyers, where Videocon is offering a 1-year free subscription of Eros Now & 1 Full version Gameloft game subscription, and a free replacement guarantee which is applicable within the first 100 days from the date of activation of the device.

Technically speaking, the Videocon Metal Pro 2 comes equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. The display is supported by a technology called “MiraVision”, which works on an advance algorithm model and enhances the picture quality of the display. MiraVision technology offers a range of visual enhancements for images and videos. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.25GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Videocon Metal Pro 2 runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.

In terms of photography, the Videocon Metal Pro 2 features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED Flash module. On the front, it sports a 3.2-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls. Other features on the smartphone include SOS-Be-Safe feature and panic button. This feature keeps you safe and alerts your nearest people and inform them of your exact location in case of emergencies.

In terms of connectivity, the Videocon Metal Pro 2 offers various connectivity options including Hybrid Dual-SIM configuration, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microUSB port for charging. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, and an Ambient Light sensor. On the battery front, the Videocon Metal Pro 2 comes packed with a 2,000mAh removable battery. Dimension wise, the handset measures 145.2 x 72.6 x 8.4 mm.
