After launching the mid-range Q6 smartphone in India earlier this month, now it seems like the South Korean electronics giant LG is all set to launch their another mid-range smartphone with FullVision display, christened as the “LG Q6+” in the Indian tech market pretty soon, according to Mahesh Telecom. Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai-based handset retailer has recently shared this announcement on its official Twitter page. The Tweet sounds, “coming soon #Offline.” Besides this, the mobile retailer also confirmed that the LG Q6+ will be an offline exclusive smartphone, unlike the LG Q6, which is now exclusively retailing on Amazon India with a price tag of Rs. 14,990. However, If the shared words are to be believed, then the LG Q6+ smartphone will be showcased at the all leading offline retail stores across the country. Though the recent report doesn’t reveal any clear information about the LG Q6+ launch date, time and venue, it is expected to take place on September 5th. Unfortunately, the pricing details and the availability of the LG Q6+ have not been revealed by the company yet but looking at the specifications, we can expect the LG Q6+ is likely to be to be priced somewhere in between the Rs 16,000 and Rs 18,000.

To recall, the South Korean company launched their mid-range LG Q6+ smartphone in the month of July this year at an event in Poland along with company’s another two mid-range devices, LG Q6 and LG Q6a. Among these three models, the LG Q6 has already made its debut on the Indian tech market a couple of days ago. The main highlight of the new LG Q6+ is its FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio as we have seen on the company’s flagship LG G6. Instead of a fingerprint recognition button, the LG Q6+ features LG’s proprietary “Face Recognition” technology for high-grade biometric security.

LG Q6+ Design:

In terms of design, the new LG Q6+ borrows its design language from the company’s previous flagship smartphone, LG G6. The LG Q6+ comes with an ultra-strong 7000 series aerospace aluminium unibody construction and an aluminium curved frame all around, giving it an overall premium outlook. The 7000 series aerospace aluminium metal frame makes the devices quite durable. The smartphone also features onscreen navigation buttons and sans the fingerprint sensor. The volume up-down keys are placed on the left-hand edge, while the power/lock button is situated on the right-hand edge of the smartphone. The rear panel of the handset houses a 13MP primary camera, a LED flash module, while the top front panel features a 5MP selfie camera and an earpiece. The speaker grilles are seen on the rear end of the device, while a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very bottom edge of the handset along with a USB Type-B 2.0 charging port sitting in the middle.

LG Q6+ Specifications and Features:

In terms of specifications, the LG Q6+ flaunts a 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio and offers a pixel density of 442 ppi. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505image processing unit. In terms of memory, the LG Q6+ is backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. Talking about its software fronts, the LG Q6+ runs company’s proprietary UX 6.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.

For photography, the LG Q6+ features a 13-megapixel standard angle sensor with autofocus and an LED flash module. On the front, it houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 100-degree wide angle sensor for capturing selfies and making video calls. Interestingly, the front camera also comes integrated with face recognition sensor for high-grade biometric security.

On the connectivity front, the LG Q6+ offers 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, NFC, FM Radio, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-B 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the LG Q6+ comes loaded with a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with fast-charging support. Dimension wise, the handset measures 142.5 x 69.3 x 8.1 mm and weighs 149 grams.
