Soon after launching the Cloud C1 and Aqua S1 smartphones in India, home-grown handset manufacturer Intex Technologies on Friday expanded its Aqua series of smartphones portfolio with the launch of a new budget-oriented smartphone, dubbed as the “Intex Aqua Lions 2” in the Indian tech market. Carried a price tag of Rs. 4,599, the new Intex Aqua Lions 2 will be made available for purchase starting today through all leading offline retail stores across the country in Champagne Gold and Black colour options. The Intex Aqua Lions 2 is a new member of company’s popular Aqua series that we have seen the recently launched Aqua Lions 3 with 4G VoLTE support and now the Intex Aqua Lions 2 can be considered as a toned-down version of the Intex Aqua Lions 3. The main highlights of the smartphone pre-loaded apps and video streaming feature, latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS, and a strong 2,400mAh battery.

In terms of design, the Intex Aqua Lions 2 sports a sleek metal unibody design with metal edges and brushed finish at the back, giving it an overall fresh and classy look. The new smartphone features three capacitive navigation touch buttons and a rear-mounted speaker grille, located at the rear end of the device. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the smartphone. The rear panel of the handset houses a 5MP rear camera setup with a LED flash module, while the top front panel features a 5MP selfie camera, sensors, and an earpiece.

In terms of specifications, the Intex Aqua Lions 2 comes equipped with a 5-inch FWVGA TN display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 32-bit quad-core processor, which comes coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the Intex Aqua Lions 2 runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.

In terms of optics, the Intex Aqua Lions 2 houses a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and a single LED flashlight. On the front, the device features an another 5-megapixel fixed focus front-facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls.

On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Intex Aqua Lions 2 offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and other connectivity. On the battery front, the Aqua Lions 2 comes packed with a decent 2,400mAh lithium-ion battery. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient Light sensor and Proximity sensor. Dimension wise, the handset measures 143.8 x 72 x 8 mm and weighs 158.3 grams.

Apart from these specifications, the device also comes with some pre-loaded apps like Tap n Buy for shopping, Xender file transfer apps, and video streaming service “Amazon Prime Video”, which allow users to enjoy free unlimited access to all their favourite songs and stream and download popular movies and TV Shows.
