After launching the Blade A2S smartphone in China earlier this month, Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of an another budget-oriented handset, “ZTE Tempo X” in the US tech market. Carried a price tag of US$ 79.99 (approximately Rs. 5,200), the ZTE Tempo X is now already made available for purchase in the US exclusively via US mobile carrier Boost Mobile in Black colour option. The economical price tag of this device might suggest a smartphone with weak performance or overall usefulness, but the ZTE Tempo X has been designed to deliver an exceptional entertainment, long battery life and productivity experience in its price range. Sadly, the Shenzhen-based company has made no official announcements about the pricing details and availability of the ZTE Tempo X for other markets including India.

In terms of design, the ZTE Tempo X comes with a sleek metal unibody design a textured back panel with metal frame all around, giving it an overall premium look. The smartphone features a trio of capacitive navigation touch buttons for controlling back, home and multitasking. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device, while the speaker grille is situated on the rear end of the device. A 3.5mm audio socket and the microphone are seen at the very bottom edge of the device along with a microUSB charging port sitting in the middle.

As far as specifications are concerned, the ZTE Tempo X comes equipped with a gorgeous 5-inch FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 854 × 480 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the ZTE Tempo X comes loaded with 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded by up to 32GB with a microSD card. Now, users can store videos and photos, download/update applications, and install the latest games without worrying about their storage space running out. On the software fronts, the device runs on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.

For photography, the ZTE Tempo X features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED flash. On the front, the smartphone sports a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls. Connectivity options offered by the ZTE Tempo X include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a 5 pin microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include an Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Proximity sensor. On the battery front, the new ZTE Tempo X comes packed with a decent 2,200mAh lithium-ion battery that is rated to deliver up to 14.7 hours of talk time. Dimensionally, the handset measures at 145.5 x 71.8 x 9.14 mm and weighs around 142 grams.
