The new installment in the Mummy franchise has the Mission Impossible actor Tom Cruise starring in it.
According to the plot summary, the mummy is an ancient princess who awakens in the current day, where Tom Cruise is the only one who has the ability to stop her from destroying the world.
The teaser was released by Universal Studios on Thursday, with the assurance of a long trailer in the coming days for the audience who are already experiencing an edge-of-the-seat phenomenon after catching a glimpse of the movie’s teaser.
Tom Cruise shared the 15-second teaser on Twitter and wrote, “I’m excited to help bring #TheMummy to life. I can’t wait for you guys to see the full trailer on Sunday”, arousing both awe and suspense among his fans, who are eagerly waiting for an action filled Cruise movie.
The computer generated imagery used in the teaser, along with amazing visuals and sound effects is exciting in its Marvel-style action and thriller take.
Digging into tombs of mummies is part and parcel fo the movie franchise but the latest iteration still manages to fascinate and enthrall with a spookier take on what emerges from the sarcophagus . With the mummy’s irises splitting into two, her marks bulging and her resounding roar, this Mummy definitely can’t be contained in the box for sure, reports The Indian Express.
The new installment also stars Russell Crowe, Courtney B. Vance, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson.
‘The Mummy’ directed by Alex Kurtzman,the first installment in the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe, will hit the theatres on June 9,2017.
