Warner Bros. has now officially sent Wonder Woman for the next year’s Academy race, by launching the campaign! Yes, and it’s now become the ‘For Your Consideration’ entry to the Oscars and will compete with other big, heavy weights, at the 90th Academy Awards, come 2018.
Well, apart from Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. have also initiated the ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign for its other 2017 films too, namely, The LEGO Batman Movie, Dunkirk and this October’s mindboggling, Blade Runner 2049. The studio has planned to submit these films for the highest cinematic honors and it’s really exciting for the studio itself, having more than one movie for the Oscars contention.
For Wonder Woman, the studio is planning to submit it for 15 out of the 24 total Oscars categories-Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Cinematography etc.
And the Amazon Princess’s big-screen origin story has really got the potential for sweeping up some of the technical positions.
Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as the iconic Diana Princess of Themyscira, and has already established itself as the highest grossing superhero origin film of all-time, apart from becoming one of the top certified superhero fresh films, after The Dark Knight (2008) and this year’s Logan.
