India’s second largest telecom operator, Vodafone India has silently introduced two new affordable prepaid recharge plans, called the “Vodafone Rs. 181 and Vodafone Rs. 195” for its prepaid subscribers. Vodafone Rs. 181 and Vodafone Rs. 195 recharge plans have been launched in the country as Bonus Card types and both these plans are targeted at Reliance Jio’s Rs. 149 tariff plan. The Vodafone Rs. 181 plan has been launched for 2G subscribers, while the Vodafone Rs. 195 recharge plan is applicable for all 2G, 3G, and 4G subscribers.
The Vodafone Rs. 181 recharge plan offers its prepaid subscribers unlimited voice calling (all network Local + STD) and unlimited 2G mobile data with a validity of 28 days. Under this scheme, Vodafone prepaid subscribers buying a bonus card of Rs. 181 can avail free unlimited voice calling to any network and any region in the country, along with Landline calls and unlimited 2G data for a period of 28 days. Note that, the new recharge plan is applicable for Vodafone prepaid subscribers only.
On the other side, the Vodafone Rs. 195 recharge plan offers its prepaid subscribers unlimited voice calling (all network Local + STD) and a total of 1GB mobile data with a validity of 28 days. Under this recharge scheme, Vodafone prepaid subscribers recharging with Rs. 195 can avail free unlimited voice calling to any network and any region in the country, along with 1GB of 2G/3G/4G (depending on the circle) for a period of 28 days. Notably, this plan is also applicable for Vodafone prepaid subscribers only. All Vodafone prepaid subscribers with 2G, 3G or 4G-enabled handsets can avail this offer and enjoy the data strong network’s best value voice and data proposition in the said period. Talking about its FUP details, Vodafone offers a cap of 250 minutes (local +STD) of outgoing calls within a single day and 1000 minutes of outgoing calls in any period of seven consecutive days.
With the launch of its two new recharge plans, the British telecom operator is aggressively going to compete against its rival telecom operators — Reliance Jio, Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel and others. Needless to say, in the Indian telecom industry, the “disruptive” entry of Reliance Jio is a great momentum behind the new-age price war. Reliance Jio has changed the entire telecom industry with its affordable tariff plans and forced the other telecom giants to reduce their data and calling rates. The telco has created a small wave in the telecom environment by introducing its highly affordable voice and data-centric combo plans. Recently, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has refreshed its 4G tariff plans for its both new and existing prepaid subscribers offering best data and voice calling benefits at affordable rates, which start from a minimal amount of Rs. 19 and go up to Rs. 4,999. As part of its new revised plan, Reliance Jio also updated its Rs. 149 plan. Under this new “Rs. 149” recharge plan, Jio prepaid customers recharging with Rs. 149 can avail free unlimited voice calling to all networks (Local + STD) and any region in the country, 300 SMSes, along with 4.2GB of 4G data (a daily FUP limit of 0.15GB) for a period of 28 days.
To counter Reliance Jio’s Rs. 149 plan, Bharti Airtel also launched a new tariff plan, called Rs. 199 plan. Under this “Rs. 199” recharge scheme, Airtel prepaid subscribers recharging with Rs. 199 can avail free unlimited voice calling to any network and any region (Local + STD) in the country, along with 1GB of 2G or 3G or 4G (depending on the circle) mobile data per day for a period of 28 days.
On the other hand, Idea Cellular also launched a similar kind of recharge plan at Rs. 198. Idea Rs. 198 recharge plan offers its prepaid subscribers unlimited voice calling (all network Local + STD + Roaming calls) and 1GB of 2G or 3G or 4G (depending on the circle) mobile internet data per day with a validity of 28 days.
