After launching the 6C Pro smartphone in the European market, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor on Thursday expanded its Holly series of smartphone portfolio by introducing a new mid-range handset, called the “Honor Holly 4 Plus” in the Indian tech market. The Honor Holly 4 Plus is an upgraded version of the company’s previous Holly 4 device, which was launched in India last month. The freshly launched device brings several new upgrades and smart features over the Holly 4 in terms of specifications. Carried a sticker price of Rs. 13,999, the new Honor Holly 4 Plus will be made available for purchase in India starting from tomorrow (November 3) via all leading offline retail stores as well as all Honor partner stores across the country in Grey, Gold and Silver colour options. The main highlights of the smartphone are its massive 4,000mAh battery and an improved 12-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Commenting on the launch of the new Holly 4 Plus, P Sanjeev, Vice President — Sales, Huawei Consumer Business Group India, said, “The success of the Holly series was so overwhelming that it encouraged us to continue making improved and revolutionary products. This is another offering from us with an aim to cater to the diverse Indian market and serve it in the best way possible.”

Design wise, the mid-range Holly 4 Plus sports a metal unibody design along with a metal frame all around, giving it an overall premium look. The smartphone sports onscreen navigation buttons and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, located just middle of the rear panel of the device. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device, while a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top edge of the phone. The speaker grilles are also seen at the very bottom edge of the device along with a microUSB v2.0 charging port sitting in the middle.

In terms of specifications, the Honor Holly 4 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core (4 x Cortex A53 1.4GHz & 4 x Cortex A53 1.1GHz) chipset paired with Adreno 505 image processing unit. In terms of memory, the smartphone comes loaded with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage, which can be further increased up to 128GB by inserting a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Honor Holly 4 Plus runs company’s proprietary EMUI 5.1 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The device has a fingerprint recognition button on the back that can unlock the smartphone just within 0.3 seconds.

In terms of photography, the new Honor Holly 4 Plus sports a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, 1.25μm sensor, and an LED flash module. The rear camera also supports various shooting modes which include Slow-motion, Timelapse and PRO camera mode. On the front, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls. The selfie camera features a beauty mode and fast focus speeds of 0.3 sec.

Connectivity options offered by the Honor Holly 4 Plus include Dual-SIM (Nano + Nano / MicroSD), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 (b/g/n), hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB v2.0 port for charging and other connectivity. On the battery front, the Honor Holly 4 Plus gets its all strength from a powerful 4,000mAh non-removable battery that is rated to offer up to 20 hours of video playback, up to 66 hours of music playback time, and up to 15 hours of web browsing on 4G network. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Fingerprint (rear-mounted) sensor, and Proximity sensor. Dimension wise, the handset measures at 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35 mm and weighs 165 grams.
