Things have gotten ugly and in quick time regarding the release of the Bollywood magnum opus, Padmavati. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead roles, the epic period film has been been embroiled in a host of controversies right from the days of its production.

With different kinds of threats issued to the director as well as the cast members so far, latest reports state a fringe group has now publicly made a bounty offer of Rs. 1 crore to burn actress Deepika Padukone alive.

Bhuvneshwar Singh, the youth wing leader of the Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha (ABKM) has reportedly issued a statement that says, “Deepika should know how it feels like to be burnt alive. The actress will never know the sacrifice of the queen. We demand that office-bearers of the organization be shown the movie before it is released.”

Over a hundred effigies of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone were reportedly burnt by the members of the party at Damodar Swarup park. Apparently, a memorandum has also been submitted to Bareilly’s distirct collector which demands a a ban on Padmavati‘s release.
