Kalki Koechlin Taking A Stand Against Sexual Assault To Bollywood And It Is Daring

We have witnessed so many campaigns and movement to protest sexual harassment and assault like #MeToo campaign in Hollywood, and the red carpet at the 75th Golden Globes was dominated by black outfits, as Hollywood actresses supported the Time’s Up movement.

But, what about the biggest film industry Bollywood? Is Bollywood is free from this evils? No, of course not!

Bollywood is same but there is no actress who can take stand against it except Actor Kalki Koechlin.

Recently Kalki Koechlin spoke to BBC News about the issue of sexual harassment in Bollywood and how it is so common and rampant, but one that isn’t spoken about that often.

When she asked why actors in Bollywood do not speak about sexual harassment at workplace, she said, “it is a difficult step to take since their career is at stake”.

 Not only this, but she also talked about the discrimination faced by the newcomers who came to Mumbai with dreams in their eyes.

“No one reports such incidents because there’s no famous person to headline them”

While she also said,”both men and women need to be having a dialogue with each other, not against each other. As, we need to stand together.”
