A new competitor has arrived in the box-office arena, to battle it out against the reigning champion, Marvel’s Black Panther. And it’s the new fantabulous horror flick from Paramount Pictures, A Quiet Place, which has got a near perfect score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes (97%), and has been hailed as one of the best horror films of all-time.
A Quiet Place was made on very-very small budget of just $17 million, but it has grossed more than $50 million in its opening weekend, being released on April 6th, last week.
That’s three times more than its cost and it seems that it will soon pass the $100 million mark on the domestic box-office.
This weekend, Black Panther could earn only $8.4 million, remaining on the 4th spot, while the second and third positions were taken by Ready Player One ($25 million) and Blockers ($21 million), respectively.
Directed by John Krasinski and distributed by Paramount Pictures, A Quiet Place stars Krasinski also in the lead role with his real-life wife, and brilliant actress, Emily Blunt, as his on-screen wife. The film has received worldwide critical acclaim and rave reviews from both the audiences and critics.
