India has been and always is a country of rich cultural heritage. Day by day more mysteries about our country unveil adding glory to our country’s ancient culture. It is indeed unfortunate that we don’t pay keen attention to our motherland, where we live in.
The new finding is that India bears an 80km long wall in central Madhya Pradesh. The wall proceeds straight and in zig-zaw fashion through the heart of the state and takes unexpected diversion every now and then. For many years, the wall has been considered as the barrier of their villages and have been the least matter of curiosity amongst the surrounding villages.
This wall stretches from Gorakhpur to Chokigarh and spreads over diverse landforms; the Vindhya valleys, teak forests, wheat fields and a dam. Till now archaeologists have discovered the debris and fossils of long gone temples and residential dwellings. These archaeologists say there is more to come in the succeeding researches.
Rajeev Chaubey, living in Raisen district recalls his road trips with his friend back in the 1980’s when they were very curious about the wall and its history. His questions weren’t answered precisely until, 4 years ago, hermit Sukhdev Maharaj hosted overnight journeys deeper into the wall. He lead them to the temple ruins that were found at various locations.
Narayan Vyas has made extensive research on the wall since a decade and points to the wall being the border of Parmar kingdom of the Rajputs. He believes the wall to be a probable of mark of bifurcation of territories between the Rajputs and the Kalachuris. While many theories and stories exist behind this ‘great wall of India’ there is no standing proof to back any of these theories.
