The online shopping giant Amazon, has announced its ‘Great Indian Sale’ between 20-22 of January. With pressure and anxiety over this offer increasing, the company has taken a few initiatives to meet the sale this year.
One of the most important of these arrangements is to improve the speed of product delivery during this period. It is a well-known fact that there would huge traffic in the site and they are gearing up for it.
It has opened 7500 temporary positions mostly in the logistics department to ensure timely and efficient delivery to its customers. “These roles will be available at 27 Fulfilment Centres (FCs), over 100 delivery stations and close to 15 sort centres across the country,” Amazon India Vice President – India Customer Fulfilment Akhil Saxena said to reporters.
The online shopping ‘Badshah’ has been working hard last year in surpassing its Indian competitors Flipkart and Snapdeal and grabbing the top slot. Amazon invested in 6 new Fulfilment centres raising the total count of FC’s to 27 across 10 states. It has also reduced the list of pin-codes that were under the ‘late delivery’ and ‘no delivery to this pin-code’. It is taking various measures to make the firm reach the number one position.
This strategy of Amazon of employing 7500 people for its seasonal offer is yet another move in pushing the ‘Great Indian Sale’ to success. This would in turn blow up the image of the company in Indian market, creating a strong stand in India’s online retailing.
