The company as of now launches and puts satellites in orbits for other companies. It also sends supplies and new experiments for NASA to the International Space Station. But in the long run,the company plans to colonize mars. The frequent Spaceflights will give SpaceX an opportunity to test its spacecrafts and make preparations to achieve its goal to colonize mars. Though the mars colony is still more than a decade away, SpaceX

SpaceX hit a bump on its way to achieve its goals when a mishap before launch grounded its flights.

The Falcon 9 caught fire on the launch pad during the Pre-check. The mishap grounded all future SpaceX missions until an enquiry found the reason for the fire. Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Florida is being renovated by SpaceX. SpaceX plans to launch the Falcon 9 and Falcon heavy from this complex from now on.

With SpaceX able to land the rocket’s first stage back to earth after the spacecraft is in space, the task is very much possible. SpaceX could actually profit if it launches rocket’s every few weeks.  According to Jeffries International, SpaceX could save over $25 million from every launch if it launches every few weeks.

The statement by the President of SpaceX is a bold one but achievable considering the fact that the company has done this before. Also, with its technology and ability to land the booster stage back on to a drone at sea, SpaceX is capable of achieving its target. SpaceX will be sending supplies to ISS on February 14. All eyes are going to be at the launch to see if SpaceX corrected its mistake and can it successfully deliver the goods.
