When Ashwin and Jadeja hunt together, its a treat for test cricket. Pitch was not a rank turner but the duo showed their class at the end of the day.India seven steps away from victory.
Lets take a look at the performances:
Ravichandran Ashwin got the spotlight on him. He took his 250th wicket in test cricket. Also he broke the long held record of Dennis Lillee by 45 to 48.Later in the day, he bowled an excellent spell with Jadeja to keep India ahead.
Mushfiqur Rahim(127 off 262 balls) was the last man to get out in Bangladesh innings. But not before scoring an excellent ton. Rahim completed his fifth Test match century to cut India’s first innings advantage to 299.
Taskin Ahmed bowled with fire and troubled the Indian batters with his lines. He bowled 7 overs on a trot. He got the wickets of Murali Vijay and K.L. Rahul. He also troubled Kohli early in his innings before the skipper settled in.
Ravindra Jadeja bowled in tandem with Ashwin later in the day to hand India that mental advantage entering Day 5. He got the prized scalp of Soumya Sarkar(42 off 66 balls) with the help of an excellent catch by Ajinkya Rahane.
Bangladesh will need an inspired show once again from their senior pros. The likes of Shakib and Rahim need to put on their best show to grind it out against Aswin and Jadeja. I will not even rule out a miraculous win.An exciting Day 5 awaits.
