Bollywood female superstar Alia Bhatt is now to play the role of a Kashmiri girl in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film. She will be playing the role of a spy who provides information to Indian intelligence during the Indo-Pakistan War 1971. Alia will handle the story of a Kashmiri girl who married to a Pakistani Army officer so as to provide the Indian intelligence with valuable information.
After narrating the role of a migrant Bihari in Udta Punjab, the actress will portray the real-life story of an Indian Kashmiri spy. The film will be directed by Gulzar’s daughter Meghna Gulzar which is her next directorial venture after Talvar. The film is being titled as ‘Raazi’ which will be an adaptation of Harinder S. Sikka’s debut novel, “Calling Sehmat’’. In this film, Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal will play the role of Pakistani army officer married to Alia Bhatt.
The film will go on floor in the month of July and shooting will be held from start to finish at a stretch and the locations are finalized as Kashmir, Punjab, and Mumbai. The film will be produced by Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions.
