The greatest night of Hollywood, the 89th Academy Awards, Oscars was celebrated by the biggest and best names in the movie business. The ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The Best Actor award was won by Casey Affleck for ‘Manchester by the Sea’ and Emma stone the Best Actress for her beautiful performance in ‘La La Land’.
There was a lot of drama in the award ceremony. Initially, La La Land was declared as the Best Picture but it was soon announced that there was an error and the Best Picture was awarded to Moonlight. The cast and crew of La La Land left the stage graciously and made way for makers of Moonlight.
The Best director award was won by Damien Chazelle for La La Land.
La La Land won six awards whereas Moonlight won three golden statuettes.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the award ceremony and was quite commenting a lot on US President Donald Trump.
