Soon after launching the Note 5 Lite C smartphone in India, Chinese smartphone company Coolpad on Thursday expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new high mid-range smartphone, dubbed as “Coolpad Cool M7” in the Chinese tech market at a price tag of CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs. 26,000). Carried a such an attractive price tag, the new Coolpad Cool M7 smartphone will be made available for purchase in China starting August 26 (Saturday) via both online and offline platforms only in Matte Black colour option. Unfortunately, the Chinese brand has made no official announcements about the pricing details and availability of the Coolpad Cool M7 for other markets.
In terms of specifications, the Coolpad Cool M7 comes equipped with a gorgeous 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D glass coating on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clubbed with Adreno 540 image processing unit to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Cool M7 is backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can’t be further expanded due to the absence of a microSD card slot. On the software fronts, the Coolpad Cool M7 runs company’s proprietary Cool 8.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The device also features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor that is housed underneath a physical Home Button of the smartphone.
In terms of photography, the Coolpad Cool M7 packs a 12-megapixel primary rear sensor with Sony IMX362 sensor, an f/1.8 aperture, autofocus and an LED flash module. On the front, the handset features a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 79.8-degree wide angle lens for capturing wider selfies and making video calls.
Connectivity options offered by the Coolpad Cool M7 include dual-SIM dual standby, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port for superfast charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the Coolpad Cool M7 is fuelled by a 3,200mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology support for fast charging. Sensors on the device include an Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, E-Compass, Gyroscope and a front-mounted Fingerprint sensor. Dimension wise, the handset measures 151.16 x 74.32 x 6.9 mm and weighs about 152 grams.
