A day which rightfully goes to Bangladesh if respective targets of both the teams are considered after day 2.Indian bowlers tried but Bangladesh came determined to put on a fight.
Lets take a look at the performances:
Shakib Al Hasan(82 off 103 balls) was the star of the day. He took the attack to Indian bowlers and played some scintillating shots against pace as well as spin. The way he counter attacked Ashwin was a treat to watch. He eventually fell to Ashwin caught at mid on trying to clear the ropes.
Mushfiqur Rahim(81* off 206 balls) will continue on Day 4.While his captaincy, keeping and even running between the wickets may earn disapproval from the cricketing purists, Mushfiqur remains, without a doubt, Bangladesh’s most dependable batsman. It was on display in Wellington and it certainly was here once more.
Mehedi Hasan(51* off 103 balls) fought with the skipper quite well. The teenager denied Indian bowlers anything more to celebrate. First thing for him in Day 4 would be to continue his innings with the same rhythm from where he left.
Umesh Yadav( 2-72) was the pick of the bowlers. Swinging it both ways, he bowled with aggresion and constantly troubled the batters. He was fast, accurate, relentless and was unlucky to have only a solitary wicket to show for his efforts in the morning. Shakib, in particular, did well to survive even as ball after ball zipped past his outside edge. He also helped team with a brilliant throw to run Tamim Iqbal out.
Result of the match depends totally on the Indian bowling. While Bangladesh looks determined to put in everything it will take an inspired bowling attack from India to get the match in their favour. An exciting Day 4 awaits.
