The Indian team is on a streak. The Champions had won the first T20 Worldcup and now again they have played beautifully in the first opening match of the tournament.
They defeated Bangladesh by 129 runs in the opening match at IIT Ground in New Delhi on Monday.
By winning the toss India opted to bat first, India posted a difficult target of 280 runs, thanks to smashing innings from openers Prakash J (96) and Ketan Patel (98).
In response, Bangladesh got stopped to India’s bowling attack as they were restrained at just 150 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.Deepak Malik scalped two wickets, Ketan Patel, Ajay Kumar Reddy, Golu Kumar, and Sunil all chipped in with a wicket each.
Deepak Malik managed to pick two wickets, Ketan Patel, Ajay Kumar Reddy, Golu Kumar, and Sunil all got one wicket each.
Ketan was announced`Man of the Match` for his brilliant combination in both batting and bowling.
In the second game of the Day one, Pakistan crushed New Zealand by 10 wickets.
Pak won the toss and decided to ball first, New Zealand managed to make 112 from their 20 overs, with McCaskill scoring 27(47) and GC Williamson (unbeaten at 14) being the only highest contributors.
However, a tactful partnership between Badar Munir (92 off 35 balls)and Mohsin Khan (15 off 12 balls) made Pakistan win match in just 7.2 overs making 117 runs.
Badar Munir was declared `Man of the Match` for his match-winning performance.
