Whenever we hear the word Sports we think of fitness and healthy body. In playing any type of sports one should possess a lot of physical strength as it is said that a physically healthy person can only play any kind of Game. But, this myth is proved wrong by many physically disabled sportsperson from around the corner of the world. Though they are disabled but are extremely talented and play brilliantly. Today, In this regard, we have compiled a list of all such differently talented athletes:

#1. OSCAR PISTORIUS
South African athlete participates in championships for below-knee amputees. He is considered as world’s fastest man with no legs. His nickname is ‘Blade Runner’. He has won many medals like a Gold medal and a Bronze medal in 2004 Athens Paralympics, 3 gold medals in 2008 Beijing Paralympics and 2 gold medals and a silver medal in 2012 London Paralympics. He runs with ‘Fix-Foot Cheetah’ which is a J-shaped.
#2. JIM MACLAREN
In 1985 he lost his left leg in an accident. He runs in the marathon with his amputated left leg below the knee. He was awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2005 ESPY Awards presentation for his performance in sports. Sadly he died in 2010 at the age of 47.
#3. BETHANY HAMILTON
Surfer Hamilton lost her left arm in 2003 when the shark attacked her. After the attack, she continued surfing and won NSSA National Competition in 2005 and O’Neill Island Girl Junior Pro tournament in the same year. She has also won the Surf ‘n’ Sea Pipeline Women’s pro in 2014 in the USA. She even wrote her autobiography Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board in 2004.
#4. MELISSA STOCKWELL
She lost her left arm in a bomb explosion in which leading a convoy as a lieutenant. After that, she participated in the 100-meter butterfly, 100-meter freestyle, and 400-meter freestyle at the 2008 Summer Paralympics. She won three consecutive gold medals in 2010 Budapest, 2011 Beijing and 2012 Auckland ITU Para-triathlon World Championships.
#5. JASON P. LESTER
He was hit by a car while he was on his bicycle. He suffered from 21 injuries in that accident. After the recovery, he started playing Baseball and Football. He started participating in biathlon races. He became the first disabled athlete to participate in the Ultra man World Championships in 2008. In 2009 he won the ESPY Award winner for Best Male Athlete with a Disability.
#6. NATALIA PARTYKA
She plays table tennis with her one arm. In 1999 she won her first intonation medal in disabled world championships. She won three gold medals at the European Paralympics Championships in 2007. In 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing she won a gold medal in the singles event and silver in the team event.
#7. AIMEE MULLINS
She was born with medical condition fibular hemimelia due to which she lost her both legs. She competed in the Paralympics in 1996 in Atlanta and set World Records in the 100 meter, 200 meters and the long jump. In 1998 she got retired.
