Huawei’s sub-brand Honor on Thursday officially launched a “Pro” variant of its premium flagship Honor 8 smartphone, dubbed as the “Honor 8 Pro” in India. Honor 8 Pro is the successor to the company’s previous Honor 8 smartphone, which was launched in October last year. But the “Pro” variant of the smartphone now comes with latest technology, upgraded features, better specifications and premium design.

Priced at Rs. 29,999, the new Honor 8 Pro will go on first early access sale (Prime Sale) starting July 10 (Monday) at 6:00 PM exclusively via e-commerce website Amazon India in Navy Blue and Midnight Black colour options. And the smartphone will be made available for open sale starting at 12 am IST on July 13 (Thursday) through the same e-commerce platform. As part of an introductory offer, Amazon is offering best buying offers on the purchase of Honor 8 Pro that includes 15% cashback on HDFC bank credit or debit cards, 45GB free mobile data for 5 months from Vodafone and no-cost EMI options. The main highlights of the smartphone are its 12MP+12MP rear camera setup, latest flagship 2.4GHz Kirin 960 processor, 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and a denser 4000mAh battery.

Honor 8 Pro Specifications and Features:

As far as specifications are concerned, the Honor 8 Pro comes equipped with a 5.7-inch QHD LTPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and has a pixel density of 515ppi. The device is powered by a 2.4GHz HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 and 4×2.4 GHz Cortex-A73) processor coupled with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Honor 8 Pro is backed up by a 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the smartphone runs company’s proprietary Emotion UI 5.1 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The smartphone also features an IR Blaster that can be used as a remote to control third-party electronics & appliances like set-top boxes, audio consoles, TVs, fans, air conditioners or DVD players.

For photography enthusiastic, the new Honor 8 Pro houses a dual rear camera setup that comes combined with 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 12-megapixel monochrome sensor. The rear camera features also include an f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, LED flash and support 4K UHD video recording at 30fps. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls. The front camera is capable of recording 1080p full-HD videos at 60fps.

In terms of connectivity, the Honor 8 Pro supports dual-SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM configuration (Micro-SIM + Nano-SIM/microSD) slot. That means you can either use this as a dual-SIM phone without memory card option or single-SIM phone with memory card option. Other connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-Type C port for superfast charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient Light sensor, Digital Compass sensor, and Proximity sensor. The Honor 8 Pro is fuelled by a high-density 4000mAh non-removable battery. Dimension wise, the handset measures at 157.0 x 77.50 x 6.97mm and weighs 184 grams.
