Chinese smartphone maker Huawei on Friday launched its two new smartphones, Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus in the Chinese tech market. The Huawei Nova 2 has been launched in China at a price tag of CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 23,500), while the Huawei Nova 2 Plus is priced at CNY 2,899 (approximately Rs. 27,250). Both the smartphones will be made available for purchase from June 16 (Friday) via Huawei’s official e-commerce store, Vmall.com in 5 body colour options- Grass Green, Rose Gold, Aurora Blue, Black, and Gold.
The Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus are successors to company’s previous Nova and Huawei Nova Plus, which were released in October last year. The major highlights of these new Nova 2 series are its 20-megapixel front-facing camera, the 12MP + 8MP dual rear shooters and the latest Android Nougat operating system. The differences between the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus are its screen size, internal storage capacity, and battery power.
In terms of design, the Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus sport a metal unibody design with a metal frame all around giving them an overall premium look. The smartphones also sport metal edges and onscreen navigation buttons. The new Nova 2 series also feature a 12MP+8MP dual rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, located just middle of the devices. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are placed on the right-hand edge of the smartphones and a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the bottom edge of the devices. The speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handsets along with a USB Type-C port sitting in the middle. Basically, both the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus smartphones sport a similar design, features and specifications except their screen size, and battery power.
