Chinese PC and tablet manufacturer Lenovo has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of two new convertible laptops, and one 2-in-1 PC at the IFA 2017 trade show event in Berlin. This new range of “Yoga” convertibles lineup includes Lenovo Yoga 920 and Lenovo Yoga 720, and Lenovo Miix 520 2-in-1 laptop. Lenovo’s new range of laptops is powered by the up to Intel’s 8th Generation Core i7 processors and offer a host of smart features such as 2×2 Wi-Fi connectivity, Type-C USB ports, powerful internals, immersive audio and Lenovo Active Pen support. The entire range sports a stunning, ultra-sleek designs, 360-degree rotatable hinges (a detachable design on the Miix 520) and offers powerful computing to today’s generation.

As for pricing and availability, the flagship Yoga 920 convertible comes with a starting price of EUR 1,599 (approximately Rs. 1.21 lakhs) and will start shipping in Europe starting from September in Copper, Bronze, and Silver Platinum colour options. Apart from this, Lenovo has also launched a Vibes version of the Yoga 920 which sports a Star Wars-themed designs and comes equipped with a scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Unfortunately, the pricing details of the 12-inch Yoga 720 convertible has not been revealed by the company yet but it has confirmed that the device will be available in Europe starting October in Onxy Black and Mineral Grey colour options. On the other hand, the Lenovo Miix 520 2-in-1 laptop is priced at EUR 899 (approximately Rs. 68,350) and will be available in Europe starting November in Light and Dark Grey colour options.

Lenovo Yoga 920 Specifications and Features:

Starting with the Lenovo Yoga 920, the Yoga 920 comes in two different variants based on its screen resolution: one with 13.9-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080) IPS touchscreen display and another with 13.9-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS touchscreen display. The ultra-light chassis weighs less than 1.5 kg making it an ideal device for people always on the go. Under the hood, the notebook is powered by the 8th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor coupled with Intel Integrated Graphics, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe solid-state drive (SSD) for faster data access speeds and boot-up times. The Lenovo Yoga 920 also comes with an optional Lenovo Active Pen 2 stylus that features 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Apart from this, the notebook also features a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication process and one-touch login with Windows Hello. Talking about its software fronts, the Lenovo Yoga 920 runs on Windows 10 Home and supports Cortana voice assistant with far-field voice-recognition technology, which can recognise voice commands even in sleep mode and from up to four metres away.

Talking about its multimedia department, the Lenovo Yoga 920 features JBL Speakers and Dolby Atmos for headphones, which provides smooth, rich, and crystal-clear sound experience to users in music, movies, and even gaming. The notebook also comes with a full-sized backlit keyboard and a powerful 70Wh battery pack, which claims to deliver up to 10.8 hours of battery life on UHD screen and up to 15.5 hours of battery life on full-HD screen. For connectivity, the device includes Wi-Fi (802.11ac) with 2×2 MIMO technology and Bluetooth. Ports on the laptop include two USB Type-C ports, one USB 3.0 (Always-On Charging) port, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Dimension wise, the Lenovo Yoga 920 measures 323 x 223.5 x 13.95mm and weighs only 1.37 kg.

Lenovo Yoga 720 Specifications and Features:

Moving on to the Lenovo Yoga 720, the Lenovo Yoga 720 convertible is the successor to the company’s previous 13-inch and 15-inch models, which were unveiled at MWC event earlier this year. Technically speaking, the laptop comes equipped with a 12.5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080) IPS touchscreen display with anti-glare coating. Like the Yoga 920, it also features 360-degree rotatable hinge, which allows users to use the laptop in a variety of different positions. In terms of hardware, the Lenovo Yoga 720 is powered by the 7th Generation Intel Core i3, i5, i7 processors, which comes clubbed with Intel integrated graphics, up to 12GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 512 GB of SATA SSD.

In terms of audio, the Lenovo Yoga 720 features Dolby Audio with Harman-tuned speakers for an outstanding audio experience. The notebook also supports an optional stylus, called the Lenovo Active Pen that provides a natural, intuitive pen experience with pinpoint accuracy, palm-rejection technology, and pressure sensitivity. The Yoga 720 also sports a 720p HD fixed focus CMOS camera, similar to the Yoga 920. Ports on the device include one USB 3.0 (Always-On Charging) port, one USB Type-C (DisplayPort + USB 3.0) port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the battery front, the Lenovo Yoga 720 packs a 36Wh battery that is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. Dimensionally, the notebook measures 293 x 203.4 x 15.75 mm and weighs around 1.15 kg.

Lenovo Miix 520 2-in-1 Specifications and Features:

Finally, the Lenovo Miix 520 is a detachable 2-in1 notebook, which means the device can be used independently as a tablet. The Lenovo Miix 520 also features an optional LTE connectivity option, watchband hinge and an adjustable kickstand. Technically speaking, the notebook flaunts a 12.2-Inch full-HD IPS touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. Under the hood, the notebook is powered by the up to 8th Generation Intel Quad Core i7 processors coupled with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB PCIe SSD for faster data access speeds and boot-up times. The Miix 520 also comes loaded with Intel HD 620 integrated graphics for the Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 variants, and the Intel HD 520 graphics for the Intel Core i3 variant.

In terms of optics, the notebook sports 5-megapixel autofocus camera on both the front and back. Further, an optional 8-megapixel WorldView can capture photos which you can edit later in 3D after installing Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. The machine also runs on Windows 10 Home operating system and supports Lenovo Active Pen 2 stylus and Microsoft Cortana voice assistant with far-field voice technology. Ports on the notebook include one USB Type-C port, one USB 3.0 port, one 3.5mm audio combo jack, one SD card reader and one SIM card slot for an optional LTE connectivity option. On the battery front, the Lenovo Miix 520 2-in-1 detachable laptop comes packed with a 39Wh battery that is claimed to offer up to 7.5 hours of battery life on a single charge. Dimension wise, the Lenovo Miix 520 measures 300 x 205 x 9.9 mm and weighs only 880 grams.
