After taking a long rest in the India smartphone market, US-based handset manufacturer InFocus on Wednesday launched a new battery-focused smartphone, called the “InFocus Turbo 5” at an event New Delhi, India. The InFocus Turbo 5 has been launched by the company in two variants, wherein one comes with 2GB RAM/16GB native storage variant at a price tag of Rs. 6,999 and the second variant comes packed with 3GB RAM/32GB native storage, which is priced at Rs. 7,999. All the variants of the InFocus Turbo 5 will be made available for purchase in India starting July 4 exclusively via e-commerce website Amazon India in Mocha Gold and Pure Gold colour options. The major highlight of the smartphone is its massive 5000mAh battery.

In terms of design, the InFocus Turbo 5 comes with a sleek metal unibody design with metal edges, meaning that the device sports a relatively premium build quality. The new smartphone features three capacitive navigation buttons and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, located just middle of the device. This fingerprint sensor, which is said to unlock the smartphone in 0.5 seconds. Talking about its cosmetics, the volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are all housed on the right-hand edge, while a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top edge of the smartphone. Two speaker grilles are seen at the back panel of the device and a microUSB 2.0 charging port is situated at the very bottom edge of the device. The rear panel of the smartphone houses a 13MP main camera setup, LED flash module and fingerprint recognition button, while the top front panel features a 5MP selfie camera, sensors, and an earpiece.

InFocus Turbo 5 specifications and features:

In terms of specifications, the InFocus Turbo 5 comes equipped with a 5.2-inch semi-HD display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor along with Mali-T720 MP1 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the phone is backed up by a 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software fonts, the InFocus Turbo 5 runs on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.

For photography, the InFocus Turbo 5 houses a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.2 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls.

In terms of connectivity, the InFocus Turbo 5 is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM. Apart from this, the smartphone also offers various connectivity options including 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a micro USB port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the phone comes packed with a mammoth 5000mAh battery, which claims to deliver up to 23 hours of video calling, 50 hours of music playback and up to 34 days of standby time. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient Light sensor, Proximity sensor, E-Compass, and a rear-mounted Fingerprint sensor. Dimensionally, the handset measures at 150.0 x 74.0 x 9.0mm and weighs around 163 grams.
