Home-grown handset manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles on Tuesday expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new budget-oriented smartphone, called the “Karbonn Titanium Jumbo” in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 6,490, the new Karbonn Titanium Jumbo will be soon available in the country via all leading offline retail stores across India in Black and Champagne colour options. The key highlights of the smartphone are its Android 7.0 Nougat OS, 13MP rear-facing camera unit, a mammoth 4,000mAh battery and 4G VoLTE (voice over LTE) connectivity support.
In terms of specifications, the dual-SIM Karbonn Titanium Jumbo sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the device runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of photography, the Karbonn Titanium Jumbo comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls. The rear-facing camera supports features like – Autofocus, Panorama shot, Continuous shot and Face Detection.
On the connectivity front, the Karbonn Titanium Jumbo supports various connectivity options including dual-SIM dual standby, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPSFM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Accelerometer, G-Sensor, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor. On the battery front, the Karbonn Titanium Jumbo is fuelled by a high-density 4,000mAh battery which claims to deliver up to 16 hours of talk time and up to 400 hours of standby time. Apart from this, the smartphone also comes pre-loaded with some useful apps including video editor.
Earlier this month, Indian telecom giant Karbonn Mobiles also announced its partnership with the India’s largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel to introduce a new affordable 4G-enabled smartphone, called the “Karbonn A40 Indian” in the Indian tech market. The smartphone has been launched in India with an ‘effective price’ of Rs. 1,399. To grab this smart feature phone, customers will need to make a down payment of Rs. 2,899 for the handset, and then make a minimum amount of recharges over three years to receive Rs. 1,500 cashbacks, giving the phone an ‘effective price’ of Rs. 1,399. The Karbonn A40 Indian 4G feature phone comes bundled with a separate plan at Rs 169 per month plan that offers unlimited voice calling and 0.5GB of high-speed data per day. Note that, customers will need to make recharges worth Rs. 3,000 in the first 18 months to get Rs. 500 cashback, and then make recharges worth Rs. 3,000 over the next 18 months to get Rs. 1,000 cashback, totaling Rs. 1500 cashback for the 3-year period.
