After posting a series of many teasers, the Chinese PC and tablet manufacturer Lenovo on Wednesday officially launched its latest killer smartphone, dubbed as the “Lenovo K8 Note” in the Indian tech market at a starting of Rs. 12,999. The new Lenovo K8 Note comes in two variants based on its RAM and native storage configuration– Lenovo K8 Note with 3GB RAM & 32GB internal storage and Lenovo K8 Note with 4GB RAM & 64GB internal storage. As for pricing, the Lenovo K8 Note with 3GB RAM & 32GB internal storage has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 12,999, while for the high-end variant with 4GB RAM & 64GB internal storage, you have to pay Rs. 13,999. Carried a such an attractive price tag, the new Lenovo K8 Note will be made available for purchase in India starting August 18 (Friday) at 12 PM IST exclusively via e-commerce website Amazon India in Fine Gold and Venom Black colour options. The key highlights of the smartphone are its dual rear camera setup, Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, a high-density 4,000mAh battery, and a front LED flash module for capturing bright selfies even in low light conditions.

Besides this, the company also announced a best buying offer for the new Lenovo K8 Note. As a part of an introductory offer, those consumers, who purchase a Lenovo K8 Note smartphone they will get a Rs. 900 discount on the Moto Sports Headphones (Worth Rs. 1599) and up to 80 percent off on Kindle eBooks (up to Rs. 300). On the other hand, Idea subscribers will also get 64GB of 4G data with unlimited calls for 2 months or 56 days at just Rs. 343.

Lenovo K8 Note Design:

In terms of design, the Lenovo K8 Note sports a 5000-series aluminium and polycarbonate body with metal edges, meaning that the device sports a relatively premium build quality. The Lenovo K8 Note also features a trio of capacitive navigation touch buttons and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is located in the middle of the back panel. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a multi-functional Music Key is placed on the left-hand edge of the handset. The dedicated Music Key on the smartphone allows users to open the music app, and control playback, based on shortcuts. The Lenovo K8 Note also sports a front LED flash that is placed on the top front panel of the device, while the rear panel of the device houses a vertical dual camera setup, dual-LED CCT flash module and a fingerprint recognition button. A 3.5 mm audio socket is placed on the very top edge of the device, while the speaker grilles are seen on the very bottom edge of the device along with a microUSB charging port sitting in the middle. The Lenovo K8 Note smartphone also features a splash-resistant with water-repellent nano-coating (P2i nano coating) which protects the device against light splashes and rain.

Lenovo K8 Note Specifications:

Talking about its specifications, the Lenovo K8 Note sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920×1280 pixels and a scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass coating on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 64 bit MediaTek Helio X23 deca-core processor (4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz, 4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.85GHz, and 2 x Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.3GHz), which is clubbed with Mali T880 MP4 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the device is backed up by a 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Lenovo K8 Note runs on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with stock Android UI. The stock Android UI provides users a cleaner interface and a smoother experience.

For photography, the Lenovo K8 Note houses a dual rear camera setup that comes combined with a 13-megapixel primary camera with PureCel Plus sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary camera and a dual-LED CCT flash module. The secondary camera sensor allows users to capture images with depth-of-field effects. On the front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens, and an LED flash for capturing selfies and video calling even in low light conditions.

On the connectivity front, the Lenovo K8 Note offers various connectivity options including Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include a Proximity sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Magnetometer and a Gyroscope sensor. On the battery front, the Lenovo K8 Note packs a high-density 4,000mAh non-removable battery with Turbo Charging support and 15W rapid charger support (bundled in the retail box). The battery is rated to offer up to 24.7 hours of talk time, and up to 378 hours of standby time. Dimensionally, the handset measures 154.5 x 75.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs 180 grams.
