Lenovo-owned Motorola on Wednesday officially launched the “Plus” variant of its recently launched Moto E4 smartphone, called the “Moto E4 Plus” in the Indian smartphone market. Priced at Rs. 9,999, the new Moto E4 Plus will be made available for purchase starting from today midnight at 11:59 pm IST exclusively via e-commerce website Flipkart.com in Oxford Blue colour options. To recall, Moto E4 Plus was first launched globally in June this year, along with the company’s another budget smartphone Moto E4, which has already made its debut on the Indian tech market couple of days ago and the phone is now retailing in India (offline retail stores) at Rs. 8,999. In the Indian market, the E4 plus smartphone has been launched in its 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant only.
The company also announced a best buying offer for the new Moto E4 Plus. As a part of an introductory offer, those consumers, who purchase a Moto E4 Plus they will get a Motorola Pulse 2 headphones (worth Rs. 2,499) at a discounted price of Rs. 649. Additionally, the Reliance Jio users who subscribe to Jio Prime membership will also get up to 30GB of additional 4G mobile data on the purchase of newly launched Moto E4 Plus. On the other hand, Idea subscribers will get 84GB data for 3 months at Rs. 443. Other launch day offers on the Moto E4 Plus include a free 2-month subscription to Hotstar Premium and an exchange offer up to Rs. 9,000.
In terms of design, the Moto E4 Plus comes with a sleek metal unibody design with a sophisticated metal back cover and metal frame all around, meaning that the device sports a relatively premium build quality. The Moto E4 Plus features onscreen navigation buttons and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner that is housed underneath a capsule-sized physical Home Button of the device. The volume rockers and the power/lock buttons are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the very top edge of the handset. The Moto E4 Plus also sports a front LED flash that is placed on the top front panel of the device, while the real panel of the device houses a Motorola’s traditional circular camera unit along with a LED flash. The speaker grille is seen at the very bottom edge of the phone along with a microUSB charging port sitting in the middle.
In terms of specifications, the Moto E4 Plus sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top. The Moto E4 Plus is powered by a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 308 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the device is backed up by a 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software front, the Moto E4 Plus runs on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
For photography, the Moto E4 Plus features a 13-megapixel rear sensor with 1.12-micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture, auto focus, 78-degree field of view lens, an LED flash, panorama, and HDR support. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with 1.4-micron pixels, f/2.2 aperture, fixed focus, 74-degree field of view lens, and an LED flash for capturing selfies and video calling even in low light.
In terms of connectivity, Moto E4 Plus offers various connectivity options including Dual SIM, 4G voLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include a Proximity sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Fingerprint (front-mounted) and E-compass sensor. On the battery front, the Moto E4 Plus packs a high-density 5,000mAh non-removable battery with 10W rapid charger support. Dimensionally, the device measures 155 x 77.5 x 9.55mm and weighs 181 grams.
