Earlier this week, HMD Global launched its latest Nokia-branded smartphones in India at an event in New Delhi, which includes one entry-level smartphone, Nokia 3 along with two mid-range smartphones namely Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. At the time of launch, the company announced that the new Nokia 3 Android smartphone will be made available for purchase starting June 16 (Friday) via all leading offline retail stores across the country. And now the time is here as the company has started shipping units of its Nokia 3 smartphone across the country from today.
Among these three Nokia smartphones, Nokia 3 is the cheapest Android-powered smartphone by HMD Global, which comes in India with a price tag of Rs. 9,499. The Nokia 5 is priced at Rs 12,899 and will be available for pre-booking starting July 7 via all leading offline retail outlets across the country while the bigger version, Nokia 6 will be available for pre-order starting July exclusively on e-commerce website Amazon.in. The Nokia 6 has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 14,999.
In India, HMD Global has appointed over 400 exclusive distributors to keep an eye on the availability of the two smartphones in over 80,000 retail stores across the country. The company also opened its Nokia customer care service point for the new Android-powered Nokia smartphones. Under the Nokia Care, the owners of Nokia smartphones can avail pickup and drop facilities in over 100 cities. As an introductory offer, Vodafone customers will get 5GB mobile data per month at Rs. 149 per month for 3 months on purchase of Nokia 3. In addition, there is also an offer from MakeMyTrip travel website, where Nokia 3 buyers will get Gift Vouchers worth Rs. 2500 (Rs. 1800 off on hotels & Rs.700 off on domestic flights).
Nokia 3 Specifications and Features:
In terms of specifications, the Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek 6737 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. Design wise, the Nokia 3 sports a polycarbonate body and metal frame all around giving it a premium look. Talking about its software front, the Nokia 3 runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of optics, the Nokia 3 features an 8-megapixel rear sensor with 1.12-micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. On the front, there is an another 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video call. Connectivity options on the device include dual-SIM support, 4G voLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and a micoUSB charging port. Sensors on the device include Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, E-Compass, Proximity sensor and a Gyroscope sensor. The Nokia 3 comes packed with a 2650mAh and measures at 143.4 x 71.4 x 8.48 mm.
