After a series of many leaks and revelations, HMD Global on Tuesday finally launched its most awaited Nokia-branded smartphones, Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 at an event in New Delhi. HMD Global is a Finnish start-up company, which has the official permit to manufacture, distribute and sell Nokia-branded smartphones worldwide. The Nokia 6 has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs. 14,999 and will be made available for purchase exclusively on e-commerce website Amazon.in. Pre-booking services for the Nokia 6 sale will begin on July 14 on Amazon. The Nokia 5 is priced at Rs 12,899 and will be made available for purchase via all leading offline retail stores across the country. Pre-booking services for the Nokia 5 sale will begin on July 7. On the other hand, the Nokia 3 price in India is Rs. 9,499 and will be made available for purchase starting June 16 (Friday) via both the online platforms and offline retail stores across the country.
Nokia 6 Specifications:
In terms of specifications, the Nokia sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass coating on top. The display is also protected by the scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Nokia 6 comes in two variants based on their RAM and internal storage architecture – 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. Both the native storages can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Nokia 6 runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Nokia 6 sports a 6000 series aluminium chassis with a glossy black body.
The smartphone also features dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology support and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, that is housed underneath the physical home button of the device. In terms of optics, the Nokia 6 features a 16-megapixel rear sensor with 1.0-micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with 1.12-micron pixels, and an f/2.0 aperture for capturing bright selfies and making video call. The Nokia 6 comes packed with a 3000mAh non-removable battery and measures at 154.0 x 75.8 x 7.8mm.
Nokia 5 Specifications:
Moving on the Nokia 5, the smartphone comes equipped with a 5.2-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass coating on top. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Nokia 5 is backed by a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
Design wise, the Nokia 5 also sports a seamless aluminium 6000 series body and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, that is housed underneath the physical home button of the device. Talking about its software front, the Nokia 5 runs on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. In terms of optics, the Nokia 5 features a 13-megapixel rear sensor with 1.12-micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree field of view lens and autofocus for capturing selfies and making video call. The Nokia 5 also comes packed with a 3000mAh non-removable battery and measures at 149.7 x 72.5 x 8.05mm.
Nokia 3 Specifications:
The cheaper version Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek 6737 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. Design wise, the Nokia 3 sports a polycarbonate body and metal frame all around giving it a premium look. Talking about its software front, the Nokia 3 runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. In terms of optics, the Nokia 3 features an 8-megapixel rear sensor with 1.12-micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. On the front, there is an another 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video call. The Nokia 3 also comes packed with a 2650mAh and measures at 143.4 x 71.4 x 8.48 mm.
Apart from these features, all the smartphones offer various connectivity options including dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG support, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microUSB 2.0 port charging and data transfer. Sensors on the devices include Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, E-Compass, Proximity sensor and a Gyroscope sensor.
