A tunnel is collapsed in North Korea results in death of at least 200 people. The accident of collapsing tunnel happened at a nuclear test site. The report made its way through the medium of unverified Japanese media.

According to the report, it is said that on October 10, the tunnel in northeastern part of North Korea collapsed during the construction of a new underground facility on Punggye-ri site. However, there are no official confirmations of the report till yet.

If the reports of the Japan’s TV Asahi are to be believed then initially 100 people had been trapped in the tunnel and while operating rescue operation to save them
further collapse happened that raised the death toll to at least 200.

 Earlier Warning To North Korea

Pyongyang’s six nuclear tests that have all been carried out at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site under Mount Mantap in North Korea weakened the ground surrounding of the site and the accident is the result of the same.  Just a day back, Seoul warned the situation of weakening the site by stating that one more nuclear test of North Korean could destroy its mountain test site.

Not only that, Seoul also experienced several earthquakes near the nuclear test site in the northeast part of the country after its sixth and most powerful bomb explosion conducted in September this year. These earthquakes were the indication that more nuclear test prone to deathly accident and the same is happened.
The warning of US support the warning of Seoul that a second nuclear test site used by North Korea to conduct nuclear tests in the country’s north west could cave in but that it won’t be abandoned.
