The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo on Thursday unveiled its another selfie-focused smartphone, the Oppo A77 in Taiwan at a price tag of NTD 10,990 (approximately Rs. 23,400). OPPO has come up with a new mid-range smartphone in its A-series, just after teasing company’s R11 smartphone earlier this week. The device is currently listed on company’s Taiwanese website and it will go on pre-orders in Taiwan starting tomorrow, May 19. However, the official availability of the smartphone will start from May 26 in Gold and Rose Gold colour variants. The OPPO A77 sports a metal unibody design with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner that unlock the smartphone in as little as 0.2 seconds.

In terms of specifications, Oppo A77 smartphone sports a 5.5 inch In-Cell TFT Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Oppo A77 is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor. In terms of memory, the phone is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fronts, the hybrid dual-SIM Oppo A77 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s ColorOS 3.0 custom skin (UI) running on top of the device.
In terms of photography, Oppo A77 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus(PDAF), an f/2.2 aperture, dual tone LED flash and full HD 1080p video recording. Talking about its selfie camera, Oppo A77 sports a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The Oppo A77 comes with various Selfie camera features, including Beauty 4.0, Portrait Mode, DSLR-like blur background effect. The company claims that with its Background Blur feature, the phone is able to create a perfect depth-of-field effect through its Portrait mode.
In terms of Connectivity, the device supports dual SIM dual standby using the (nano-SIM + nano-SIM+ microSD) slot and there is a fingerprint sensor embedded into the capsule shaped home button at front. Connectivity options include 4G with LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, and microUSB v2.0 for charging and data transfer. Oppo A77 is fuelled by a non-removable 3200mAh battery and the device has a thickness of just 7.3mm and weighs about 153 grams.
