Soon after announcing the Oppo F5 global launch date, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo is all set to announce the launch of its next-generation R series smartphone, dubbed as the “Oppo R11s” in the Chinese tech market early next month. The Chinese handset maker has already started sending out the media invites for an upcoming smartphone launch event, which is scheduled to be held on Thursday, November 2 in the land of Beijing, China. At the event, Oppo will be announcing the pricing details and the international availability of its premium bezel-less display smartphone, the Oppo R11s. The company has confirmed this news on the Chinese micro-blogging platform called Weibo. The Oppo R11s will be the successor to the company’s previous Oppo R11 smartphone, which was launched in China in June this year. Oppo on Monday shared a teaser image about the company’s big smartphone launch event on its Weibo account. If you take a look at the provided teaser image, you will get to see a Chinese model holding a Red coloured Oppo smartphone and on the back panel of the device, you will see a confirmation that it will sport a dual rear camera setup along with a single LED flash.
Earlier this month, Oppo confirmed that it will be unveiling its latest F series smartphone, called the “Oppo F5” in the Philippines on Thursday, October 26. And later, the company confirmed that it will launch the Oppo F5 in the Indian market on November 2nd. Besides this, the company also confirmed that it will unveil Oppo F5 smartphone in Southeast Asia Market including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam soon. The Oppo F5 will be the company’s first full-screen smartphone and will come with A.I. Beauty Recognition technology for capturing better selfies. The A.I. Beauty Recognition technology uses artificial intelligence to recognise skin tone and type, gender and age of all subjects within an image by scanning more than 200 facial recognition spots. The AI technology also analyses environment lighting conditions to beautify a selfie shot.
However, there are multiple leaks and rumours about the Oppo R11s have been surfaced on several websites from the last couple of weeks. Recently, the premium smartphone also appeared on a benchmarking platform called AnTuTu, revealing almost everything about the smartphone. Oppo R11s has been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of its official debut which does reveal a gist of all the specifications and features about the upcoming Oppo smartphone. If the emerging reports are to be believed, the Oppo R11s would see a significant overhaul in terms of specifications and arrive with a host of improvements. The Oppo R11s is expected to come with a better screen, faster operating system, more efficient battery, dual rear camera setup for better photography, intelligent beauty mode, among others.
Oppo R11s rumoured Specifications:
As per speculations, the Oppo R11s will sport a 6-inch Full HD+ bezel-less display with a screen resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor (4 x 2.2GHz Kryo 260 cores & 4 x 1.8GHz Kryo 260 cores) coupled with Adreno 512 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Oppo R11s will be backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the software front, the Oppo R11s will run company’s own ColorOS custom UI skin, based on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating.
In terms of photography, the Oppo R11s is expected to sport a horizontally arranged dual rear camera setup consisting of one 16-megapixel primary sensor with dual-tone LED Flash and one 20-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it will sport a 20-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls.
In terms of connectivity, the Oppo R11s will support dual-SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM (Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM/microSD) slot. That means you can either use this as a dual-SIM phone without memory card option or single-SIM phone with memory card option. Apart from this, the smartphone will also offer 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz & 5.0GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS / GLONASS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Oppo R11s will also sport a front-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security. As per the Chinese Compulsory Certification website listing, the Oppo R11s will also support company’s proprietary VOOC fast charging technology using a 5V/4A adaptor. On the battery front, the smartphone is expected to pack a 4,000mAh non-removable battery. The China-based smartphone manufacturer is also expected to launch a “Plus” variant of the Oppo R11s model as well along with the standard Oppo R11s model.
However, these aforementioned specs and features are all leaked and rumoured specifications, so we have to wait till the official announcement from the company for any confirmation.
