At today’s Tripwire PAX West panel, Antimatter Games have revealed that the next Rising Storm 2: Vietnam update will feature our friends from Down Under.

As reported by PC Gamer, the ANZAC update (working title) – named after the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps coming to the game – not only brings the new faction, but also two new maps, a new helicopter, Bushranger, and a heap of new weapons, too, including the “L1A1 SLR, a derivative of the FN FAL, firing 7.62mm NATO, the L2A1 AR, a full auto version of the L1A1, the Owen SMG, the F1 SMG, and the Browning Hi-Power.”

The ANZAC will sport their own customisable gear, appropriate accents, and bring with them a new Commander ability, the Canberra bomber strike.

The new maps, Long Tan and Rung Sac – both based upon real historical details – include Territories and Supremacy versions, and feature a rubber plantation and forest wetland respectively.

Though not yet available, ANZAC will shortly go out to alpha and beta testing, and is expected to release in a few months’ time. We’ll keep you posted.

We reckon Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is one of the hardest shooters out there, so take it easy, soldier.
