Although the marketing and promotional activities for Shah Rukh Khan And Anushka Sharma’s Jab Harry Met Sejal directed by Imtiaz Ali has been on point so far, the upcoming rom-com film has now run into a small trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The issue comes after the current Chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) of Indian cinema Pahlaj Nihalani raised the red flag on a certain dialogue uttered in the second Mini Trail of the film.
The funny dialogue is spoken by Anushka Sharma and goes as, “Indemnity bond, maine isme clearly yeh state kiya hai ki agar humare beech mein sexual interaction hota hai, amounting or not amounting to full intercourse, you’re absorbed of all legal charges,”.
Nihalani has objected to the inclusion of the term “intercourse” in the film’s trailer and has stated that unless it is removed, the CBFC will clear the film for release only with a ‘U/A’ certificate.
In hindsight, this might not seem like such a major issue. However, from a trade perspective, the ‘U/A’ certificate will limit the audiences coming in to watch the film in theatres. The makers will clearly want to set right the issue soon.
Jab Harry Met Sejal hits theatres worlwide on August 4, 2017.
