Kirik Party is in some legal trouble as their song ‘Hey Who Are You’ are facing copyright issues. Lahari Music secured a stay order against the release of the movie on Wednesday and their song had to be deleted.

The song was out and playing for quite some time now and due to the recent circumstances they had to be removed. The song is said to be violating the copyrights of the original song from the movie – Shanti Kranti (1991). The director, Rishab Shetty says the the law has been made in such a way that anyone can secure a stay order and they can get a clearance from this only after the court hearing. But the court hearing has been scheduled on the same day as the previously fixed release date.

The film makers says that the song was a tribute to the music director Hamsalekha and the actor V Ravichanadaran. It was aimed at appreciating these artists rather than ending up in  the middle of a legal issue that would affect the movie in any way. This Kannada movie with a good review never expected to get into trouble for paying a tribute like many others in the film industry.

The director also says that it is not the first time that Lahari Music has secured a stay order against a movie regarding copyright issues. They had previously done this against the movies  ‘Sanju Weds Geetha’ and also ‘Ranavikrama’. Further actions will be taken by the Kirik Party Team only after the court hearing.
