After launching the X9 and X9 Plus smartphones in China last year, the Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is expected to launch its next two flagship smartphones, the Vivo X9S and X9S Plus in a couple of days. The Chinese company has already started sending out the media invites for its upcoming flagship smartphones launch event, which is scheduled to be held on Thursday, July 6 in Beijing, China. The media invite shows a half image outline of the device (either the X9S or the X9S Plus), company logo, scheduled launch date and time. If you take a close look at the provided teaser image, you will get to see a woman holding a gold colour Vivo smartphone and on the back panel of the device, you will see a confirmation it will sport a single rear camera setup along with an LED flash.

However, there are many leaks and rumours about the Vivo X9S and X9S Plus smartphones from the last couple of months. The Vivo X9S and X9S Plus smartphones have been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of the launch which does reveal a gist of all the specifications and features of the high-end devices. Sadly, we don’t have any information about the Vivo X9S’s specifications and features yet but the Vivo X9S Plus was earlier spotted on Chinese certification site TENAA with a detailed spec sheet. If the listed specifications are to be believed, the Vivo X9S Plus would see a significant overhaul in terms of specifications and arrive with a host of improvements.

As per the TENAA listing, the Vivo X9S Plus will sport a 5.85-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device will be powered by a 1.95 GHz Octa-core processor (unspecified, it could be recently launched Snapdragon 660 SoC). In terms of memory, it is expected to come with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the Vivo X9S Plus will run on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with company’s proprietary FunTouch UI custom skin.

In terms of optics, the Vivo X9S Plus will have a dual front-facing camera setup combined with 20-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Talking about its rear camera, it is said to sport a 20-megapixel main camera. For connectivity, the Vivo X9S Plus will feature 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, and a microUSB port. The device will come loaded with a decent 3,920mAh non-removable battery.

As we mentioned earlier, there are no official disclosures about the Vivo X9S’s specifications and features, but we can expect that the Vivo X9S will be a watered down version of its upcoming younger sibling, Vivo X9S Plus.
