After launching the Vivo V5s Energetic Blue colour variant in India last month, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo on Friday expanded its “Y” line-up of smartphones portfolio with the launch of a new selfie-centric smartphone, called the “Vivo Y69” in the Indian market. Packaged with exciting features, the new 4G-enabled smartphone is aimed at winning over selfie enthusiasts with its 16-megapixel front-facing camera which comes with an LED flash module, also known as “Moonlight Glow”. The company claims that the “Moonlight Glow” light feature induces a natural glow on the face without straining eyes that light up the picture irrespective of the lighting conditions. The main highlights of the smartphone are its 16MP Moonlight selfie camera, a powerful 3,000mAh battery and a new Live Photo feature.

Design:

In terms of design, he Vivo Y69 sports a sleek metal unibody design and a metallic radiance back cover with curved metal edges, meaning that the device comes with a relatively premium build quality. The smartphone features capacitive navigation touch buttons and a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, that is housed underneath a capsule-sized physical Home Button of the device. The power-key button and volume up-down keys are all placed on the right-hand edge of the devices and a 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the very bottom edge of the phone. The rear camera lens is still positioned exactly the top left corner and a 16MP front-facing camera is fixed on the top left corner of the front panel. The speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB 2.0 charging port sitting in the middle.

Specifications & Features:

Talking about its specifications, the Vivo Y69 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 glass coating on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor coupled with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fronts, the Vivo Y69 runs on company’s proprietary FunTouch 3.2 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. As we mentioned, the smartphone also features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security.

For photography, the Vivo Y69 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture, Samsung S5K3L8 sensor, and an LED flash module. On the front, the handset houses a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with Samsung S5K3P3ST sensor, an f/2.0 aperture and Moonlight Glow flash unit for capturing bright selfies even in low light conditions. Camera modes on the device include Bokeh, Group Selfie, Live Photo feature, Face Beauty, Panorama, HDR, Night, Professional Photo, Filters etc.

On the connectivity front, the Vivo Y69 offers various connectivity options including Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB v2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Fingerprint (front-mounted), Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope, E-Compass sensor, and Proximity sensor. On the battery front, the Vivo Y69 comes packed with a decent 3,000mAh non-removable battery. Dimension wise, the handset measures 154.6 x 75.7 x 7.7 mm and weighs around 163 grams.
