Chinese electronics company Xiaomi on Wednesday launched a bunch of new products under its Mi Ecosystem IoT product portfolio in China. The new product range includes the Mi Laser Projector, Ninebot Plus, and Mi Ultrasonic Toothbrush. The Mi Ecosystem is a company’s sub-brand that covers a range of smart products manufactured by Xiaomi’s ecosystem partners. Xiaomi claims that the Mi Ecosystem IoT platform has crossed 60 million connected devices in just three years, making it the world’s largest smart hardware platform.
Mi laser projector
Starting with the Mi Laser projector, it features ALPD 3.0 laser light source technology, developed by Appotronics, an ecosystem partner that has equipped over 90% of China-based laser projection movie theatres. ALPD 3.0 laser light source technology offers wide colour gamut, 5000 lumens brightness and a 3000: 1 native contrast. The company claims that that the Mi Laser Projector is the world’s first ‘truly cinema-level laser projector TV’, which comes with built-in Mi TV to watch movies on a bigger screen and a custom DLP solution. Custom DLP solution has been developed by another ecosystem partner, Texas Instruments. You can set this Mi laser projector between 2 and 20 inches away from the wall and it can project a display up to a maximum of 150 inches. Apart from this, the new Mi laser projector also comes equipped with an incredible sound system as well as the as the Mi TV interface with a full range of content. Priced at CNY 9,999 (approx. Rs. 95,500), the new Mi laser projector will be made available for purchase in China starting July 4 via crowdfunding on Xiaomi’s apps.
Mi Ninebot Plus
Talking about Xiaomi’s next offering, the Ninebot Plus is the successor to the company’s previous Ninebot mini, which was launched in China in October 2015. This self-balanced scooter sports an 800W motor and a strengthened magnesium alloy chassis that provides it a strong ability to take load of up to 100kg. The company claims that the Ninebot Plus can travel a distance of up to 35km on a single charge and has a top speed of 18km per hour. The Ninebot Plus scooter also comes with a remote control that allows users to control its movement conveniently even without a smartphone. An optional Mi Ninebot Plus Camera can also be attached for capturing photos. Priced at CNY 3,499 (approx. Rs. 33,500), the updated Ninebot Plus scooter will be available for purchase in China starting July 11 via both online and offline channels.
Mi Ultrasonic toothbrush
Lastly, the Mi Ultrasonic toothbrush is the company’s first Mi Ecosystem product aiming to personal healthcare. The Mi Ultrasonic Toothbrush comes with an ultrasonic technology which enables vibrations of up to 31,000 times per minute while cleaning the teeth. The electronic toothbrush also has DuPont StaClean high-quality bristles and packs a 700mAh battery that claims to deliver up to 18 days of battery life on a single charge if you brush twice a day. The Mi Ultrasonic toothbrush has been launched in China with a price tag of CNY 199 (approx. Rs. 1,900) and will be made available for purchase in China starting July 18.
