The Humma Song: A R Rahman didn’t like the idea

The music was composed by A.R.Rahman for both the films Bombay and OK Jaanu, but The Humma Song had a rap section given by the rapper Baadshah. The song was trending within a day but many of them didn’t want to mess up the classic song. Recently in an interview, A.R. Rahmen confessed that he didn’t like the idea of remaking the song.

When the producer Karan Johar and director of OK Jaanu Shaad Ali approached A.R. Rahman for the rights of the song, Rahman revealed that he had immediately refused. He told them it won’t be a good idea but they convinced them saying that Badshah will give youthful charm to the song. He also told that it turned out they were right and the song was a super hit.

Rahman agrees that his music has seen a dip. But he still is proud of his music and is always open to criticism. He believes as we move forward there will be changes in thinking of new generation so we have to move with the pace.
