The iPhone 8 glance set to be one of the most striking smartphones to date.
Apple has long been rumoured to be forethought something momentous for its next release, which will mark ten years after all the set afloat of its first ever iPhone.
The iPhone 8 is conventional to come with a gratifying hardware boost, but could also feature a major shake-up in terms of its design and appearance, as Apple looks to give its top smartphone a much-needed makeover.
Now, a new report has defend that these improvements could include something never seen before in an Apple device – and it’s a change that could be a real game-changer.
Sources speaking to the Wall Street Journal have said that the iPhone 8 will sport the company’s first curved display.
The curved screen will be collateral to the design seen in Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge, with proclamation and alerts being displayed next to the side of the device, making more room on the main display.
The update is also Apple’s first move into super-detailed OLED screens, which are able to show off higher resolutions and more attribute than the LCD displays currently used in previous iPhone devices.
The remake could be bad news for Apple fans wallets, however, as OLED displays cost notably more than LCD products.
This could mean that the iPhone 8 will set buyers back far more than past releases.
The WSJ’s report even claims that the iPhone 8 will be the first device from the company to cost more than $1,000, as OLED screens are hugely immoderate to manufacture, with only a few companies around the world able to produce the amount of units Apple will need.
