Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu on Tuesday officially announced the launch of its new mid-range smartphone, the Meizu M5c for the Chinese tech market. As of now, Meizu has not revealed the pricing details and availability of the handset. However, the new Meizu M5c smartphone will be made available in five attractive body colours- Black, Gold, Red, Pink, and Blue.

Design wise, the Meizu M5c sports a high-end polycarbonate unibody design. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are housed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio jack, speaker’s grilles, and the charging port are all placed at the bottom of the smartphone.
In terms of specifications, the Meizu M5c features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels and 2.5D glass protection. This display comes packed with a sophisticated GFF full-lamination technology. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor, coupled with Mali T720 GPU to handle the graphics. The device is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot. On the software front, Meizu M5c runs company’s own Flyme 6 custom skin based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box.
In terms of photography, Meizu M5c sports an 8-megapixel camera with, f/2.0 aperture, 4-element lens, ISP technology and dual-LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for video calling and capturing selfies. The camera supports ArcSoft beautification algorithm and 720p slow-motion shooting.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM with dual-standby (Nano-SIM), 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Gyroscope sensor, and Ambient light sensor. The Meizu M5c is fuelled by a decent 3000mAh non-removable battery. Dimension wise, the Meizu M5c is just 8.3mm thin and weighs around 135 grams.
